Parish Plan
.What should our villages look like in the medium to long term? The Parish Plan is our way of expressing this and getting our messages across to local, regional and national government.
PLAN UPDATE:The plan questionnaire received a remarkable 50% response rate from the villages. Thank you, this is a fantastic result. The findings and discussion of next steps was held at the Village Hall on 19th June at 7:30pm (See here for the presentation slides). Four working groups are now in action to take forward the views of the villages. If you are not involved please join in to help create a better parish for us all.
BACKGROUND: According to DEFRA (who recently picked up this role from the Countryside Agency) the plan could address any social, economic or environmental issues, such as:
- housing
- transport
- access to services e.g.. doctor's surgery
- local parks and green spaces
- play groups, childcare, afterschool clubs, etc.
- village halls or other meeting places
- support for local businesses
- building projects - ensuring designs and uses are compatible with existing buildings and their residents (village design statements).
But it is our plan so we can decide what it says about us, our aspirations and what we would like others to respect and help us with.
